WWF-India announces
the 9th Edition of its Directory of Environmental NGOs
in India, released by Shri Namo Narain Meena & Shri.
Sevugan Regupathy Hon’ble Union Ministers of State,
Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF) and Ms.
Meena Gupta, Secretary, MoEF. This directory was released
at a function organized by MoEF at Vigyan Bhavan to
confer the Indira Gandhi Paryavaran Puraskar by Smt.
Pratibha Devisingh Patil, President of India on the
occasion of World Environment Day on 5th June, 2008. |

| This is the country’s
largest compendium of information on Indian NGOs working in
the fields of environment, sustainable development, and nature
conservation. This edition carries nearly 2342 entries with
their contacts, histories, missions, and activities.
It has been compiled by the ENVIS Centre
07, which operates from WWF-India’s Indira Gandhi Conservation
Monitoring Centre (IGCMC). The Directory would find good use
with voluntary groups, government agencies, reference libraries,
researchers, aid agencies, the media, and educational institutions.
This is available for sale at the rate of Rs.850/- per copy
on cash payment from IGCMC at the WWF-India Secretariat in
New Delhi. However, if you wish to obtain it by post, please
send Rs.150/- extra for postage and packing charges. Kindly

ENVIS Centre 07 has
been publishing this directory since 1984 and each time
it comes out with its latest edition it tries to entail
maximum, authentic and latest information of the environmental
NGOs functioning in different parts of India. |

| The ENVIS
Centre at WWF-India has published
six reports on ‘Environment in the Indian Parliament:
An Analysis’ for the year 2005. These six volumes
cover the Budget, Monsoon and Winter sessions of the
Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in the year 2005 respectively.
The report analyses the trends and movement of various
environment related questions addressed to different
ministries during these sessions. The accompanying analysis
in the report is based on the statistical and graphical
trends, and number of questions covered under the categorized
subject-list. This report would be of immense importance
to voluntary organizations, government agencies, reference
libraries, researchers, aid agencies, the media , and
educational institutions. |

in the Print Media: An Analysis. |

This report primarily
focuses on the major environment related news highlighting
various prominent issues generating environmental concerns
and awareness among the general public and experts working
in this field. It also brings to notice the activities
of various NGOs working in the field of environment
both national and international. It accentuates the
need and the role; the print media plays to create awareness
by disseminating information on environment and its
protection. This analysis report prepared by ENVIS
Centre 07 is compiled and released in an electronic
format on a quarterly basis. This report is being compiled
and updated regularly. |
